  • Good trails if your looking to get out of town and not have to travel too far. There are a lot of trail runners and bikes out all the time because of the trails length and lack of elevation change. Gets you past red rocks and how busy that can get. There are other numbers trails nearby that are also good for exploring that will get you a bit more climbing or true hiking. Overall good for a stroll and seeing some views.

  • Tons of great hikes in this area, very close to town easy to get to from just about anywhere. There are clean restrooms at the main trailhead, and all the trails are well marked and easy to follow. If you are looking for some amazing views of Red Rocks and a change to make a great loop I would recommend taking the Red Rocks trail and the Dakota Ridge trail to make one large loop. I would definitely recommend this area to new hikers. Lots of great views everywhere you look and most of the trails can be hikes all year long.

  • Great views and well maintained trails. Moderately challenging but rewarding! It's a very popular hiking place and most visits I encounter a park ranger which is nice.

  • I did this hike in December, wearing my 5 month old baby. We attempted the 5 mile loop, which goes up one of the mountains and around the back. We didn't make it all the way to the top, but that was mainly because we all got SO COLD. It was super warm at the bottom, but of course the top of the mountain was more exposed to the wind, and freezing. I'll definitely be going back and attempting this hike again soon, in slightly warmer weather.

  • This place is a gem! A lovely park for hiking, jogging or just taking a stroll in the foothills. It's wonderful for all ages, though some ground is a bit uneven in places and visitors should expect some moderate incline all around. Great trail for day hikes with options for more advanced trails further along the path. Love it
