Botaniska Tradgarden - Review

Botaniska Tradgarden is a botanical garden spreading over 175 hectares. People may find 16,000 species in several greenhouses and display areas like Rock garden and  Herb Garden. Botanical gardens were initially open to visitors in 1923 and had been developed significantly over the years with improved gardening and beautiful plantings. The winding paths extending for a few kilometres have been constructed throughout the expanse of the gardens. People may stroll around enjoying the bliss of nature with each turn. The place has a number of plants collected from different parts of the globe including bamboo trees, which represent the indigenous plants of the Asian nations.

In spring, the flowering Rhododendron Valley is the most marvellous spectacle of Gothenburg. The exclusive Rock Garden is extremely attractive to the visitors with ponds, cliffs, rugged rocks, a cascade and rivulets. The greenhouses have a wide range of equatorial orchids in Sweden, few carnivorous plants and the unique Easter Island tree, which is dead in its usual environment. A number of exhibitions take place in the greenhouses each year and the garden has an inclusive schedule of activities throughout the year. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Gothenburg itinerary 1 day.

  • Went here yesterday during our trip to Gothenburg. What a breathtaking experience! This botanical garden is enormous and perfect for a day out with friends or family. We were really lucky because it was sunny so we couldn't have had a better day here. We ran into a sign to a viewpoint along the way and decided to go up. Quite some steps later we were treated to an amazing view over Gothenburg. We wanted to have some dinner here but unfortunately the restaurant was closed. Definitely go here and enjoy nature at its finest!

  • This is a beautiful oasis of nature and plant life away from the concrete jungle of the city. Located in a very central and accessible area by public transport. It features a Japan garden, rock garden, a greenhouse and more suitable for everyone whether it's a quick visit or a half day walk through.

  • A beautiful garden good to visit for every time of the year. Amazing views and nice flowers to look at while walking around. A lovely café with vegan and vegetarian options. Interesting plants, like the Easter Island tree.

  • Beautiful garden with lots of different flowers. If you're not so interested in flowers there's a zoo with moose, deer, goats, penguins ... and seals! Great for a day out with kids. On top (literally), you'll also find a viewpoint with a lovely overview over the city. Don't miss out on that!

  • It's beautiful and stunning garden. Lots of beautiful flowers. We can spend a whole day strolling around the garden. It's a perfect picnic place and we saw many people having picnic there. We also saw some wedding shooting. There are lots of benches to sit if one is tired. Toilet facilities are good. there is also a beautiful restaurant which serves great food and drink. We had a great experience eating lunch at this restaurant.
