Puerto de Mogan is situated on the south-west coast of Gran Canaria and is the most picturesque resort on the island. Residents claim that the Puerto de Mogan weather is the best in the world! This is a pedestrianised (closed to vehicles, open to pedestrians) town of two-storey apartment buildings with roof terraces and small gardens bursting with bougainvillea, palm trees, bird-of-paradise flowers, hibiscus and other colourful plants. It is also known as "La Venecia de Canarias" (the "Venice of the Canaries") as it is built around a marina and fishing harbour, and has channels of water passing under arches in the buildings and between the port and the beach. A quaint and beautiful town where one can spend a couple of days soaking in the peace around. For those who want a bit of excitement, there are jet skis for hire, parascending, sport-fishing excursions and submarine trips to a local wreck. Various hotels, clubs and restaurants are available to cater to visitors for their stay here.

Puerto De Mogan, Gran Canaria Reviews - Write a Review
It has a very large market on a Friday stretching for well over a mile, offering many opportunities for souvenir shopping, or just a pleasant peruse. It has several streets that I'm told are nicknamed little Italy as the building are beautifully painted and adorned with colourful flowers and various plants. This is a lovely place, well worth a day's visit if you're staying elsewhere.
Laid back, lovely town and weather was blooming hot for October. Fantastic places to eat. Most shops are shut by 8pm, massive market on a Friday which goes all the way around the sea wall!! We will definitely be back and for longer next time. This is not a place if your looking for party time.
Nice view, nice beach. Nice narrow streets. Claims to be a small Venice but not every vilage with 3 bridges can be a Venice. Missing normal showers in the beach. Expensive parking.
Took the ferry from Puerto Rico (€11 each). Went on a Friday as that's market day. Probably around 50 stalls, most selling the usual tourist stuff. Lots of bars/restaurants for refreshments. Spent 2-3 hrs there. Worth a visit.
Such a lovely town. So pretty just to walk around. Lovely shops and cafes. Loads of boats too.
