Grandview Point is the southernmost point in the South Rim route and also making it the furthermost point away from Colorado River. The cliffs at the rim are generally less steep than at other, closer overlooks, allowing a relatively easy trail to descend into the canyon. Before the construction of a lodge named El Tovar which is now the haven for tired tourists, Grandview was one of the first place to be developed along the rim but it quickly became disused after a few years. Still is one of the great spots to enjoy the sunset.

  • Spectacular views and awe inspiring moments to share for a lifetime with family and friends. If you're up for a real adventure, the hike down to the Colorado is one you wont soon forget! Give yourselves plenty of time and bring a good supply of water and protein snacks to keep up your energy!

  • Absolutely beautiful! We arrived roughly an hour before sunset & stayed until the sun's rays no longer hit the canyon. The pictures don't do it justice...you definitely need to see it in person to get the full effect. I recommend you walk down a ways to get away from the crowds ;)

  • You really cannot fathom the greatness of this place by the pictures shown here at google maps. Just the simple massiveness of the canyon took everyone’s breath away. This is really truly an amazing place. Most people flock this place for photography and stitching panoramic views because of just how huge the gorge is. This should really be one of the seven wonders of the world.

  • I would love to go back someday it was hard to take in all the beautiful things the few hours we were there. We didn’t realize at the time the park was as large as it was! Do be safe most of the park is not fenced

  • I love this place. I visited this location early morning before sunrise with my friends and they view of mountains is awesome. South Rim of Grand Canyon is wonderful location to view sunrise and sunset. If you love photography I strongly suggest go with your camera and gather lot of pictures and video of time lapse. When sun rises these mountains start sparkling and it’s looks beautiful.
