Grandview Point is the southernmost point in the South Rim route and also making it the furthermost point away from Colorado River. The cliffs at the rim are generally less steep than at other, closer overlooks, allowing a relatively easy trail to descend into the canyon. Before the construction of a lodge named El Tovar which is now the haven for tired tourists, Grandview was one of the first place to be developed along the rim but it quickly became disused after a few years. Still is one of the great spots to enjoy the sunset.
