Hopi Point comes as the fourth stop on the red route and is one of the few spots from where the whole canyon comes into perspective. It stands at about 6,800ft tall and right opposite to it lies a very old temple. Hopi Point has a fenced viewing area next to the road, and a vista over the canyon centred on Dana Butte, a flat mesa 2,000 feet below the overlook. It is accessible by shuttle in summer and fall, making it one of the best spots to enjoy the sunset.

  • You can only reach this spot in Grand Canyon NP via park shuttle bus, bicycle, or on foot, at least during the peak warm weather months. Private cars are not permitted. But it's worth going because it's one of the few places on the South Rim where you can see the Colorado River at the bottom of the canyon.

  • The Sunset at Hopi Point is on another level of beauty. Be prepared for strong, cold winds up at Hopi Point. The buses provided by the park goes around frequently, so you are able to travel to not only Hopi but other points. Being the best sunset view, buses will pick up passengers to return back to the start point up to an hour after sunset. Certainly, a view never to forget.!

  • Hopi Point in South Grand Canyon Village is a great place to experience the beauty of this place, especially at sunset. Plan on large crowds and a wait cor the bus ride back to your car. You can see the Colorado River from the canyon rim at this lookout. Take a coat and enjoy the transition to night while everyone else stands in line for the bus. The colors are worth the wait. Bathroom available and one of the stops on the return bus route.

  • This was a lovely stop on the red line. You could see the Colorado River in several places (a mile down, lol). Catch the line west here, or walk back a short, easy hike to Powell to go East.

  • Great hiking trails with spectacular views of the canyon right from the edge! This is one of the few areas where you can deviate from the beaten path. Word to the wise, be VERY careful
