About Hopi Point, Grand Canyon National Park

Hopi Point comes as the fourth stop on the red route and is one of the few spots from where the whole canyon comes into perspective. It stands at about 6,800ft tall and right opposite to it lies a very old temple. Hopi Point has a fenced viewing area next to the road, and a vista over the canyon centred on Dana Butte, a flat mesa 2,000 feet below the overlook. It is accessible by shuttle in summer and fall, making it one of the best spots to enjoy the sunset.

  • Hopi was breathtaking! Best of all the points on the Hermit Route. You get a great view of three sides of the valley from this point. Especially beautiful about an hour before sunset until sunset.

  • Stopped here on the motor coach Sunset tour. Awesome place to be at sunset. Watching the Ravens acrobatics are fun

  • Majestic. This one is probably one of the most popular view points. Gets pretty crowded. Much better and more beautiful than we've ever imagined. Just one personal comment: if/when you see pics, videos, movies don't forget that the actual colors widely vary depending on the time of the day, the weather conditions, and the season you visit. Conclusion: when you actually visit leave plenty of time to enjoy and you'll be very pleasantly surprised. Should be on the bucket list.

  • It's a very nice view from Hopi Point, but it's almost the same at every shuttle bus stop. Here you can find restrooms, but only just 2 or 3 of them. There's also a gift shop (picture)

  • Sunset at Hopi point is spectacular. It offers a long range, wide view on both ends of the canyon.
