The designated national Monument of Vermillion Cliffs with the riot of colours, patterns and structure will leave you spellbound as you are traversing through the Grand Canyon National Park. Covering the huge area of 194000 acres, the Vermillion Cliffs are towering escarpments of Limestone, Sandstone, Silt and Shale. The sedimentary rocks have been and are still being corroded by the winds, thus, reflecting the colourful layers of the rocks on the Buttes, Tablelands and Mesas. The small streams passing through them favours the habitat of over twenty species of raptors such as the endangered California Condor, Peregrine Falcon, Golden Eagle and Bald Eagle and animals like Mountain Lions, Desert Bighorn Sheep, desert snakes and lizards. You can camp at the Stateline and White House campgrounds.
