The Burggarten Graz came into being a pleasure garden from the castle bastion in 1568 by the court gardener Hans Richter. The Glasshouse dating back to 1841, features two sandstone figures from the demolished barrack vestibules along with puttis made by Anton Kakon, Dragonfly Group created by Alexander Wahl and the Liberation Monument by Wolfgang Skala. You can also find the busts of Peter Rosegger, Paula Grogger, Victor Kaplan, Hugo Wolf and many more sculpted by renowned artists like Erich Unterweger, Erwin Huber and so on. There is an Orangery where you can host parties, weddings, and other celebrations amid the greenery and the 19th-century vibe. Sit back on the manicured lawn area of Burggarten Graz to be greeted by the native squirrel pair, called Hansi.
