Nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Mount Leconte is the highest peak in the Sevier County as well as in Tennessee with a height of 2010 metres. The peak is also among the highest peaks of the Appalachian Mountains with its massifs namely West Point, High Top, Cliff Tops, and the Myrtle Point. Another dramatic massif on the western fringe is the Balsam Point with the height of around 5,840 feet. The hiking trails to Mount Leconte are laden with Spruce-fir forestry endemic to Southern Appalachian Mountains. Your trail options include Alum Cave Trail, Bullhead Trail, Rainbow Falls Trail, The Boulevard Trail, and Trillium Gap Trail. On top of the mountain lies the LeConte Lodge that can accommodate up to fifty guests from March through November.
