The Parque Municipal Da Pedra Montada in the Guararema municipality is famous for the massive Megalithic Monument stone that rests precariously on another stone. The stone on the base is partially buried. The upper stone stands 2.5 meters high on the lower stone. The megalith structure is supposedly dated from the Neolithic period and is the main attraction as the visitors cannot help but wonder whether the stone will collapse or not. You will also find around fifty huge stones scattered in the Parque Municipal Da Pedra Montada, some of them weighing about ninety tons. Enjoy a leisurely trail to view the Paraiba do sul River valley and the green waters, the E.T. Stone and the Tubarao Stone.
