The Camara Municipal De Guimaraes stands on the former site of the Santa Clara Convent and dates back to 16th century. The building has gone through various renovations, expansions and restorations to reach its current stature. The first thing that will catch your eyes is the decorated facade divided into three sections along with the niche of the gateway depicting the central image of the Patron Saint –St Claire. The tree-lined avenue has ample shades over the benches and the fountain in the middle acts as a great photo spot. The interior to the Camara Municipal De Guimaraes is not open to tourists however they can roam around it and enjoy marvelling at the 16th century Baroque architecture.
