About Shiva Temple, Gulmarg
One of the few remnants from the Dogra Dynasty which is hard to miss from anywhere in Gulmarg, the temple was built by Maharani Mohini Bai Sisodhia, wife of Maharaja Hari Singh. The Queen was known to visit the temple everyday to pray to Lord Shiva.
However, the interesting part of the temple is the Priest who even though is a Muslim by religion, quotes both the Holy Quran and the Bhagvad Geeta. He took up the responsibility of the temple after the natives fled from the area during Militancy. A truly spiritual and human journey awaits its visitors at the temple.
Visit the temple and walk around the area later to take in its beautiful location and peaceful vibe.

Historical Temple, built by wife of Maharaja Shri Hari Singh ji in 1915.
Holy place to visit everyone. Nice weather and nature.
A small but beautiful temple of lord Shiva on the top of a small hill. You have to climb 30-35 stairs to reach this temple. The "Jai Jai Shiv Shankar" song from Rajesh Khanna's movie 'Aap Ki Kasam (1974)' was filmed here.
