Built in the 1930s on the Tennessee River, the Guntersville dam is a hydroelectric dam whose components were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. Apart from offering a knowledgeable experience, the dam also provides fishing opportunities. The dam is a favorite destination for fish catchers as it offers a wide range of fishes including crappie, bass, and bluegill. The area below the dam offers trails for hiking along with sauger and white bass fishing.
