Guruvayar Temple is a sacred temple located in the town of Guruvayur, Thrissur district in Kerala. The sacred temple is dedicated to the Hindu God Guruvayurappan and Vishnu (in the form of Lord Krishna) with an idol that is said to be 5000 years old. Guruvayar Temple is visited by hundreds of devotees and visitors. The temple architecture is based on typical Kerala temple style designs. In Guruvayar Temple there is the ‘chuttambalam’, a gold-plated flag mast which is as tall as 33.5 meters.
