Assam State Museum, Guwahati Reviews

  • Awesome place for learning. It was summer session when we were here.anyway we have to say that this is awesome place in Assam, for Assam & by Assam...... There is lot of thing to teach us accurately. And there is also parking lot available. Naturally this place is good. This is established beside a road. Here is also have a security check & luggage check. And restrictions for capturing photography. And restrictions for touching anything which is available in this buildings. Here all of things are traditional and ancient. Literally very deepful . Assamese tradition is looked in. Finally if you chose this for tour or excursion or for journey. You can choose it for best place.

  • So I really wanted the place to look well lit. Well organized and clean but it wasn't so. It looked shabby. No lifts and i felt no sense of direction in that place. I wish more people cared about this place and the heritage it carries. I feel no one is interested in going there expect for some foreigners, its an irony how people don't care about their own cities but ofcouse go and see the other countries museum in awe.

  • The oldest museum in Assam with large collection of historical, cultural, social materials depicting Assam. Estimated time for indepth visit is 3-4 hours and more for researchers. The exhibits are nicely placed though there is scope for improvement specially in the tribes gallery. Overall it's a worthy place to visit if someone has not done earlier.

  • Some of the rare cultural artifacts can be found. The diversity of the Assamese culture is well portrayed with rich & vivid models. Well, It can be more developed to attract visitors.

  • Awesome.requires time to observe if you have interest in such museum. I enjoyed photography here.impressed by the care takers information about the place. Well maintained and clean.
