Assam State Zoo Cum Botanical Garden, Guwahati Reviews
1. Online booking of tickets would be great idea. Would save lot of time spent in the queue. 2. Solar powered/battery operated vehicle (on payment basis) from Gate to Monkey & Rhino enclosures would be attractive for kids and old people. 3. Parking lot could also be better managed, by demarcating/marking the area. Would like to give 5⭐️ next time. Best wishes.
The zoo has improved a lot. The staff is quite polite. There are guides. And the enclosures are quite well maintained. The snake enclosure was closed when we went there so that was a bummer. Apart from that you'll have fun seeing other animals. There's no giraffes here though :'(. But overall, it's a great zoo.
The zoo has been improved , staff is good with good behavior and the guide new people. enclosures are well maintained. many animals are there, snakes are very closer. Apart from that you'll have fun seeing other animals. There's no giraffes , finally i can say i enjoyed a lot in this zoo , you would forget every tension and you will be present only in the present whenever you will visit this zoo .
The place has improved a bit especially the road inside, still I find the animals to be a little uncared for. When we were kids, they used to have giraffes and stuff. They're dead for a long time now. This place needs a major revamp. It's a nice place to spend the day, but they need to make new cages, bring new animals and stuff, and also improve the quality of life of the animals there. They could bring in experts from abroad and make some interesting changes and and add modern concepts etc and make this a star attraction of the city. 4 stars.
Good place for kids. To begin, there is a parking available (paid parking; Rs. 50 per car). Entry fee to park/ zoo is Rs. 30 for adult and Rs. 10 for kids. There is some discounts for educational groups and school children. The ticket counter is just next to the entry point. Upon entering, they will check your baggage for any plastics: If you have eatables they will transfer it to a paper bag and give you back. In case it cannot be transferred to paper bag or you don't want to do it, deposit Rs. 10 for each item and take in inside. The deposit will be refunded once you show those plastics upon return (to show that you have not thrown them inside the zoo) - a very appreciative job. Inside zoo, about a kilometre will be waste (if you take left trail) because you will find everything deserted with cages without animals. Later, as you move forward, you can see animals such as lion, tiger, white tiger, leopard, rhinoceros, hippopotamus, elephant, jackel etc. There is also a water aviary for water birds with good number of birds. A snake house with different types of snakes including python is also there. Overall, you will spend 2-3 hours. The zoo is good although could have been managed better by the staff.
