A monument built to commemorate the recapture of Hungary from the Turks in 17th century, Mary’s column has four distinct baroque statues of Saint Stephen, Saint John the Baptist, Saint Anthony of Padua and Saint Leopold- the patron saint of Austria. With the blessed virgin- Hungary’s guardian lady standing on a high column with spikes and angel-heads, with the Hungarian crown on her head and the infant Jesus on her right arm, this monument is worth observing!
