The Rambam Medical Center or Health Care Campus, also called Rambam Hospital is located in the Bat Galim neighborhood of Haifa, Israel. The hospital was established in 1983 and is the biggest medical center in Northern Israel and is named after the 12th century physician-philosopher Rabbi Moshe Ben-Maimom ( Maimonides), known as Rambam. The Rambam Health Care Campus is also an academic teaching hospital associated with the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine of the Technion, one of Israel’s oldest universities. The health care campus also serves as a referral medical center and a level I trauma center. It is a very well equipped and an efficiently staffed health care center.
