Backpackers Hawaii Reviews & Ratings

  • Love the chickens! We enjoyed staying in this hostel, close to the beach and all attractions on the north shore! We met wonderful travelers there and this is what makes this place special!

  • We were on a month long camping trip and needed an affordable break! We absolutely loved our stays both at the back house and the plantation village. The owner was very helpful and gave us options. Great vibes, location and atmosphere. We booked a semi private on the top floor of the back house for 3 nights and ended up staying a week. Amazing :) My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is the lack of kitchen pots and pans! We cooked our own food and the selection was very limited, if not incomplete.

  • Best hostel I’ve ever stayed. The location is perfect with good beaches that you don’t even need a car, I really loved the view and the ambience. I went in the summer so there weren’t no waves, but the hostel borrows free snorkeling material and the beach just in front offers some of the best snorkeling in Oahu.

  • Amazing place!! Friendly, helpful staff. Best location in North shore. Quiet at night unless the waves bother you. 2 blocks from grocery store. Very homey place. There’s snorkel stuff for loan at the office. I can’t say enough!!

  • Easily the worst place I've ever been. Dust and bugs everywhere, the room has never been cleaned before. Stay away.
