This museum is aquiet wonder. It’s not as prominent as the city’s other, more fun exhibits, but it’s no less important. There are a number of permanent exhibits which are very valuable; a little surprising considering the museum’s unassuming look. Large areas are dedicated to the history of shipping in hamurg. But if you’re not a history buff, there wouldn’t be much fro you to do here. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Hamburg itinerary 3 days.

  • Nice place to know Hamburg History. But some information is only in German. Most of it is translated but still in some places you'll need to know deutsch. The English tour was very helpful for that.

  • This is an interesting museum on the history of Hamburg. The exhibition starts from the bronze ageish and follows the history of the city till modern times. There are many dioramas and models of the city and there is even a model railway.

  • Fascinating insight into the very chequered history of a beautiful and interesting city. Inexpensive, with lots of great exhibits so allow plenty of time for your visit. There is a very comfortable and welcoming restaurant serving high quality food.

  • Great history museum, in my honest opinion one of the best i ever been. You can see and understand easily the history of Hamburg in details, really interesting. Was few times and always was nice to visit. You need at least 3 hours to go there easily....

  • Just an outstanding museum experience. Even the restaurant was perfect for great food, ambiance, service, & price. I spent 6 hours in perfect harmony.
