Planten Un Blomen - Review

Though it carries a rather literal name, (Plants and Flowers), the park is actually one of Hamburg’s most popular hangouts. Jog in the morning, picnic in the afternoon and catch light shows, musical concerts and performances in the evening. Children will find the playground here and absolute delight. The Japanse gardens are nothing to sneeze at either; catch them in the right season and you’ll see the cherry blossoms bloom oh so prettily. Fountians lakes and waterfalls abound. The best part is, you can combine all of this with some delicious ice cream fro the cafes all around. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Hamburg itinerary 1 day.

Planten Un Blomen, Hamburg Reviews

  • The best park that I have ever been to. Not only the botanic garden, but the rest too. I have been going there since I was a child, but hanistly I haven't seen a place more beautiful then Planten un Blomen. If you like plants it is a must-go-to. And the gardens around are pretty nice for picnics.

  • Huge get away from it all city garden with something for everyone. Full of plants and wildlife and all within 20 minutes of the city. Free to enter and a range of cafes, quiet spaces and vistas to soothe anyone. Very nice indoor tropical garden too.

  • We have been living in Hamburg for almost a year. Only recently we went to Planten un Blomen and were very positively surprised. The park is very different to other parks we know of, e.g. the English Garden in Munich. It offers lots of sitting opportunities and areas protected from the sun where people can relax and enjoy a conversation. There is a stream with clear water and areas for kids where they can play around. The free open air music is very welcoming as well. We will definitely back more often after this experience.

  • One of the most beautiful parks I’ve ever been too. Without a doubt this is a must visit place in Hamburg. Peaceful atmosphere, a lot of shadow (perfect for hot summer days) and quiet corners where you can chill, read a book or meet with your friends for a picnic.

  • Planten und Blomen is one of my favorite parks due to the size, quality, and variety it offers. There are great places to get some peace and quiet and potential to collect your thoughts and meditate. There's many fields to put down your favorite cloth and have a fun time with friends. And cuz it's Germany beer is allowed! There's a tropical garden. There's a fantastic playground that has everything a kid could dream of. There's a Japanese garden that plays with stones and water. Whoever designed these places knows what they were doing and you can feel it.
