The prominent spire of this church is the most recognizable sight in the Hamoburg skyline. The church is Lutheran and is also the largest in the city, with a seating capacity fo 2500. Hamburgers call it Michel. Beautiful, classical and old as anything, the must do things in the church include taking the elevator to the top of the tower, visiting the catacombs, and a long look at the Baroque interiors. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Hamburg itinerary 1 day.

This was an amazing place, spotted the Christmas market outside then went into the Church only to find another Christmas market deep within the crypt beneath the Church ! Everyone was so friendly and one of the chocolate stalls let me try different ones before I bought some. Brilliant! The Church itself is a an amazing building, so massive and tall I used it as a focal point when getting my bearings. Majestic building.
Great views of Hamburg from the top of the tower, reasonable entry cost and there's also a lift if you don't want to take the stairs. Great opportunity to see the port and the other churches of Hamburg. Would definitely recommend visiting near sunset. The rest of the church is also something to be marvelled at.
An intetesting place to visit. You can climb the tower and get views of the city. The inside is set out with a balcony and decorative altar. Outside is a status to Martin Luther.
For only five euros, you can take the stairs or elevator to the top for stunning views of Hamburg. There is an automatic ticket machine on the left which is a bit hidden to avoid the queue. Brace for the wind up top but worth the view. Ample information at the top on the views and a good selection of souvenirs
Cool historical place. You can climb up to a platform on the tower (or us an elevator) for an amazing view over the entire city. Costs are 5€ for adults and 3,50€ for children. Also very new looking church which you can see for free. Worth a visit!
