Arboretum or Montpelier Arboretum is a huge national park in Bermuda. The park spans over 22 acres of inland area and was a British Army property which was later handed over to the Government after the Army’s departure in 1951. Arboretum is not like other regular botanical gardens but is more of a large expanse of meadows and forest area with varieties of trees as well as shrubs. You can see cedars, golden acacias, avocados growing and acres of cherry forest. It’s also a wonderful bird sanctuary with some beautiful species like cardinals and rare bluebirds. There’s a bridge leading inside the park and small pools below it as well as space for picnics, hiking, and jogging plus exercising.
