Home to approximately 1000 animals, the African Lion Safari is a family owned safari park that is a must visit for wild life enthusiasts. Spanning over 740 acres, visitors can tour any or all of the seven game reserves where animals like lion, giraffe and elephants roam freely. Guests are allowed to tour the facility in their own vehicles or have the option of hopping on a tour bus that takes them through the park.

The Park was founded by retired colonel Gordon Debenham who had an intense passion for animals. The park also has a walking area where birds and animals like parrots, macaws, elephants, flamingos and rabbits can be seen.

  • Grounds remain open for an extra 1.5 hours after game reserves and ticket booth entrance close.
  • Vehicles on which openings cannot be closed or where safety is otherwise compromised (for instance, by large cracks in the windshield) will not be allowed into the reserves.

  • Great place to visit and bring kids. The Safari experience is very fun, specially if you're lucky to see the animals more active or stretching under the sun to warn up (fall had this advantage). The kids playground and splash pad (summer) are great and safe... Very fun! The shows totally worth it. Special exercises done to examine the animals, and to keep their body and mind sharp, are demonstrated in a very fun and informative presentation to all ages.

  • This is a great place and we have taken our children and now the grandchildren it is never a disappointment. Make sure you take the bus for the safari ride as those monkeys and baboons can cause damage to your vehicle. The elephant bath is always a hit with the kids as is the bird shows that are most entertaining. The fast food restaurant provides quality pizza with a reasonable price. It is a full day and with the water park allows you to cool down on those hot summer days we are looking forward too next season.

  • Awesome. We went as a day trip with the family. Went through the Safari twice and the animals were very active, especially the monkeys. Also there is many animal shows, where the birds show off their astonishing capabilities. Also a show where the elphants we're preforming tricks. There is also a water park and place for children to play. There is also a boat ride around the lake and train ride. Great place to bring the family. The children will love it.!

  • I love this place. it's a lot less tiring and than Toronto zoo and you get to see the animals up close. also the splash park is so much fun and if you like ice-cream you should definitely try the soft serve close to the elephant show, it's the best

  • Great place to take the family or a date. Staff were friendly and informative. Animals seemed content and treated well, with lots of room to roam around. You can see that the caretakers do have a love for the animals. Wonderful place to educate about the beauty of nature and the responsibility of conservation.
