African Lion Safari - Review

Home to approximately 1000 animals, the African Lion Safari is a family owned safari park that is a must visit for wild life enthusiasts. Spanning over 740 acres, visitors can tour any or all of the seven game reserves where animals like lion, giraffe and elephants roam freely. Guests are allowed to tour the facility in their own vehicles or have the option of hopping on a tour bus that takes them through the park.

The Park was founded by retired colonel Gordon Debenham who had an intense passion for animals. The park also has a walking area where birds and animals like parrots, macaws, elephants, flamingos and rabbits can be seen.

  • This was an amazing experience and I would definitely go again. The value is the best around when compared with other attractions. The animals look very healthy and well cared for. The bus tour was very nice, and we enjoyed it so much we went through again in our car. The water park is awesome and my daughter absolutely loved it. The boat ride is also great and seeing the apes and lemurs was great. The food prices were not too bad. I highly recommend visiting!

  • It is one that f the best safari that I’ve been. I would suggest to use you your car for the animal visit , it is safe, better than use their bus and you can enjoy more with different views. Don’t miss the free shows. They have free boat trip for 10 every 15 minutes which good to get. Also, kids will like their train journey. In hot weather, the kids will enjoy the water fun so be their swimming clothes. I would suggest to bring snack and food to eat their as they do not have that much options to eat there. 4-5 hours will more than enough to stay in Safari

  • Wonderful time here. It's called as Safari; although I would like to state it a "drive-in zoo". There are enough patrol vehicles guarding the animals and the visitors. So you don't need to worry about getting in contact with wild & dangerous animals. Just remain seated in your vehicle with windows rolled up, does locked. We planned to spend 5-6 hours and we did spend covering almost all animals/exhibits. We didn't get to see a Cheetah. But we were entertained enough by free roaming monkeys. There is a huge wet play area for kids. They have splash pads, water slides etc. Good for kids and adults to cool themselves in the hot sun. I found this place popular next to drive through reserves. Birds of Prey flying demonstration was cool. We could not make to Parrot paradise and Elephants & Friends show. And finally, don't forget to cap it off with playful elephants swim. There is something in those elephants which can make me watch them all day.

  • It was great! I was pleasantly surprised. The tickets were expensive but got discounted tickets at Costco. Brought a picnic lunch which was well worth doing. Took the car instead of the bus through to see the animals. About an hour of driving but it was great as well. Splash pad is awesome for kids. Nice day!

  • 4 stars because we spent more money on food than we did admission. We even git a special group rate. Pack your own food. Eat first and then enjoy the day. You don't want to out coolers around with you. We took the bus tour. Which was fine. Our driver was very knowledgeable and friendly. She gave a good tour. The General experience was great. It was a hot day, but there is tons of shade and rest areas. The splash zone is enormous and has areas suitable for children if all ages. The elephant show was awesome. We loved the train ride. Can't wait to come back
