  • Loving the new renovations. The look is fresh and pretty. The staff is great but seem a bit overwhelmed when busy. The Avocado toast was great, only there were no apples or beets in my salad which is the reason I ordered it. Maybe updating menu on website would help. Its too bad they no longer poach the eggs. Soup was great but so hot. I really miss not having to pay extra for butter and jam and also miss their butter tarts, but the new desserts are pretty good. Some of the menu items are pricey when they don't come with a side. I miss bacon or just toast and eggs as an option. I think the new menu is great and interesting. It is a little confusing when you reach your turn at cash to decide takeout or stay in because I don't want to eat and drink from paper wear but not sure if a table will suddenly become free. Can't wait to try the french toast, they looked amazing. I hope they don't start to decrease the quantity of food but keep the higher price.

  • I have always been a fan of Detour and all they have to offer. The renovations were a bit surprising but I like the clean/ bright feel. The breakfast sandwich I had was delicious, better than the one they did before the revamp. The cookies are also better than they were before. Might take a little while for some people to adjust to the change but I overall I think it was a great choice.

  • I left a 5-star review for the cafe as it was pre-2018, but they have undergone a significant redesign this year. The interior has been completely reorganized and is quite a bit brighter than before; the design seems somewhat polarizing among my friends. I still think it's an awesome place to go for coffee, and their food menu is a bit lighter but still quite delicious. I miss their old scones, but the new sweets they have are quite good. They are just starting to roll out the Dear Grains bread for purchase separately, and the first loaf I had from them was a delicious sourdough that had a great crust and moist interior.

  • Newly renovated with a very clean, simple style. Enjoyed meeting here to chat over coffee. Staff was friendly, nice assortment of treats, food, and coffees. Great job on the renovation! Addition of accessible WiFi would make this a location I would return to more often.

  • I ordered a hot chocolate and was charged $5. I thought, "damn, this must be a good hot chocolate." After about 7 minutes of waiting (2 people were in front of me), I was handed an much smaller hot chocolate than expected. But I thought "the taste will probably make up for this." I couldn't make it past a couple sips. It was the worst hot chocolate I've ever had. The taste was bitter (and not good, "ouuu dark chocolate" bitter) and bordered on putrid, to the point I thought the milk they used had gone bad. My question is: if the drink is so small and is so bad, where the hell is my $5 going? To maintain the staff's trendy clothing styles? Will not be coming back and will be warning my friends.
