Explore Group - Snorkelling And Diving, Hamilton Island Reviews

  • As not particularly strong swimmers we booked the tour not realising it was more suited to stronger swimmers. However, the team and especially Zoe were fantastic and very accommodating. Zoe stayed with us in the shallow water and went out of her way to show us the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef even though we are not experienced snorkellers. Thanks so much to Zoe and the team at Explore for making our trip an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

  • Amazing experience today at Chaulkie's and Whitehaven. Extremely professional yet fun crew. They are very good at the job, great with the kids and extremely focused on safety of the passengers. The skipper, Trevor, was amazing, Travis, Helena and Scott were also awesome, highly recommend.

  • Absolutely disgusted with the Explore team on Hamilton Island. My friends and I booked back in August to go on a Snorkelling/beach tour of the surrounding beaches on a Catamaran through Explore. We received a phone call the night before the trip where we were told that we would not be going on this tour due to SCHEDULED boat maintenance. We did not receive any other form of notification; just a call on the night we were planning to leave and fly to Hamilton Island. Upon arriving on the island we went straight to the explore desk where we met Bex. Bex was an employee of the explore group and boy was she rude. Upon explaining our situation to Bex, her attitude changed entirely. In the most smug way possible Bex explained it was not Explore's fault, they told us via email many weeks ago. I asked for proof as i had not received anything other than a phone call the night before. She in fact laughed when she found the "proof" and i asked for her to print this off. She printed it off and we discovered she had been using the wrong email address. Bex accused us of not looking at our emails despite the organiser of my group being a PA for several high end clients and keeping on top of her emails is crucial. This accusation actually brought my friend to tears and Bex was still sitting there smiling as if nothing happened. We left in search of a manager who could be of more help as this was a 2 day trip to Hamilton Island as part of my engagement present to my new fiance and i was not going to let this situation ruin our trip. We went to a tour desk and spoke with the person in charge there. She was somewhat helpful and understanding of the situation but still didn't solve the issue just handed us our money back and said she would give us a free round of bowling. Really?? We fly to Hamilton Island to go on a catamaran tour which is cancelled for scheduled boat maintenance yet despite this being scheduled we were only called the night before. did you not think to call a few days prior so we could arrange something else? after having not had a response to your emails did you not suspect that maybe you had the wrong email address. you clearly had our number the whole time as you called us the night we were leaving? and then to compensate this royal mess up . you offer me a round of bowling. What planet are you from?? But wait.... It gets worse.... I finally get the details to the General Manager who is away on Annual Leave. After getting my father to contact him via email and explain our situation, the General Manager explains he does not want us going on any of their tours as we abused the staff at the tour desk. BEX!!! What a complete and utter lie! never once did we get angry or abusive, it is not in my or my friends nature to act like that. Clearly this was the way you were able to keep your job. by lying to your manager. Great work Bex. I've never experienced such a poor level of service in all my life.

  • I did the sunset cruise on the 22nd of October. I went with four other friends. We had such a wonderful time. Boat crew Tim and MJ were so nice and friendly. Also Louise in the office where we booked was so friendly.

  • The service was awesome! Very friendly staff and the skipper even told us stuff about the ship! I also loved laying on the net and just relaxing. I recommend people going there!
