Gejjala Mantapa, Hampi Reviews
Gejjala Mantapa is a small beautiful pavilion with exquisite design. It was used as a Rangamantapa for conducting music & dance festivals.
This is a single structure that you will see as soon you board the Electric cart to reach the Vitthala Temple complex. Our guide said this was used as an open 'Mantapa' by general public in the Vijayanagara empire for functions such as wedding etc. The structure is nice to look at and one can see that it must've served the purpose well. Hampi is so magnificent that way. It never ceases to impress.
The Gejjala Mantapa is an ancient structure in Hampi with a highly impressive architecture. On the way to Vithala Temple, this comes to be the first temple on your right. This temple was used for religious functions during the days of the Empire. The places around this temple are also very scenic. In order to go to this temple you can have an electric car which you can get from the entrance. But it may not stop here, and so walking is recommended.
I was very excited to go to this temple.
