Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre, Hanoi Reviews - Write a Review
I must say, this is literally a water puppet theater. First time to have seen a show like this one. The show is in Vietnamese, others can only enjoy the music and theatrical performance. The place is air conditioned thus comfortable to the audience. When you come here, it tends to have sold out tickets. So buy first for scheduled reserve tickets.
Show was quite entertaining. Sells out often. Buy your ticket in advance. Keep in mind that yes, it's a PUPPET show. Might not be your cup of tea. Handful of immature people making fun of it. What do you expect at a puppet show? I personally found it interesting! And if nothing else, the live musicians playing traditional music is AMAZING
Very traditional. Technically I imagine very difficult. Very rhythmic with live musicians. Only distraction was number of audience filming on smart phones and iPads, plus flashes going off. One wonders at their need to frame the experience.
Interesting to see and beautiful artistry but pretty boring overall. Not a lot of context or information given. 45 minutes was more than sufficient
This is the best place to watch water puppet shows where people stand in water behind curtain and control the puppets. Tourists can watch the show similar to this in Historical Museum in Saigon as well but it is not as good as here. Across the road is the historic Sword Lake
