The museum makes for an interesting visit, especially it’s display of Vietnam’s struggle for independence and the ensuing historic war. The museum has indoor and outdoor exhibits that highlight the various military weapons and artifacts used in the war. • A good museum to get the overview of the battles Vietnam had to fight from a thousand year ago to current times. Although the exhibits are interesting they are all very shallow and in typical Vietnamese fashion all the descriptions sound quite biased. The outside exhibits include their own armaments but mostly American vehicles which they captured. It takes about an hour to skim through the exhibits. Would recommend if you are interested into warfare and the conflicts Vietnam endured.

  • I would describe this museum as eclectic. You can spend several hours here going through the entire history of Vietnam's military history. At the end you can see a multitude of American military vehicles and aircraft that were captured or shot down. This museum is organized and put together well. I believe there's a statue of Lenin across the street.

  • If you are in Hanoi and have small boys you absolutely should visit. I recommend the walking tour by starting at the John McCain Memorial, then heading to the B-52 lake and finally over here to the Museum. Lots to see and explore. The pre Vietnam War exhibits opened up a history I was not aware of and found fascinating. I recommend you pay for admission but skip the "camera" pass. Nobody checks and everyone is snapping photos anyway.

  • If you like to look at old military weapons, tanks, etc you might enjoy this. I personally would have preferred to read about the military history than spending time here. So many other things to do in Hanoi. The prison museum is more worth your time.

  • Interesting for someone who's into the history of the Vietnam conflict. Mostly displayed are weapons and war equipment. Nice outside area with interesting aircraft display. Also you are able to access the flag tower. America's maybe offended by the display as it is more or less in a way of the victory of the Vietnamese Army. Price is around 2 EUR for adults.
