An old railway park, turned into an amusement park for children is a fact worth mentioning for two things. One is that the park still has a railway locomotive and two, the train is run and managed entirely by children, a group named Young Pioneers. The park covers a total area of 71 hectares, with an inland river Majiagupermeating through it, the park is a paradise for children. It has plenty of recreational facilities such as the bumper car, flume ride and the children’s train which runs in a loop of about 2kms. In winter, the park is decorated with beautiful ice sculptures and has also opened a skiing resort for children. The park is also host to many festivals and activities round the year like the annual Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, Harbin Summer Concert and Roll-on-Ice Festival and Folk Ice Lantern Festival.
