Built to honour one of the greatest spiritual masters of the country and even the world, ‘Confucius’. The temple area is a grand 5,674 sq metres wide inside an even bigger temple grounds which is about 25000 sq metres. Being the largest of its kind in Northeast China, the temple’s architecture resembles that of the typical Qing dynasty. Its traditional curved roofs are covered with yellow coloured tiles, a privilege which only the Confucius temples have. The main buildings are all located on the axis and other buildings on its sides. The courtyards on the outside are adorned with rare old trees and flowers like green pine and cypress. The main hall, also known as Dacheng Hall has intricately carved sculptures of Confucius, Sipei deities and 12 memorial tablets of Sages. Located away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the temple is a calm and a serene place to reflect and contemplate.
