One of the marvels of modern architecture the Long Ta tower stands about 1102 feet long, the tallest in Asia and the second tallest in the world after Eifel tower. The tower serves many purposes primarily being a Radio & Television transmission along with sightseeing, food & beverage amusement, environmental meteorological observation and monitoring, microwave and wireless communications together. Its base is in the shape of a spherical crown consisting of underground floors and four more above it. The first floor has a Holy Altar of descendant of the yellow Emperor. The second is a Wax museum where you can also find fossils of dinosaurs. There’s also a Confucius school here.
From the top there’s a panoramic view of the entire Harbin city and the end of Songhua River as far as the horizon stretches. The tower is octagonal in shape and looks like a huge column of light after sunset. The top sightseeing balcony shines like a dazzling crown jewel, a befitting monument for the city.
