A semi-natural woodland occupying an area of about 96 acres, The Pinewoods has original Scots pines which were planted in 1796. Managed by the Harrogate Borough Council, the pinewoods also offer many informal recreational areas and spots for conservation-related interests. Some species that can be found in the pinewoods include birch, holly, rowan, English oak, alder, hornbeam, whitebeam, spruce, Hawthorn, European larch, common beech and many others.
