On the Norwegian Seafront, the Trondenes municipality is known for its Medieval Stone Church in Troms County. Comprising some of the smaller islands like Hinnoya and Grytoya, the Trondenes peninsula covers around 186 square kilometres. At the church, you will find the Trondenes Historical Center that showcases the history of the region. Located at the southernmost tip, the construction of the church dates back to 15th century with its 74 feet long nave and 44 feet chancel. The Gothic Triptychs, 18th century Organ, Baroque Pulpit and the rich decorations will catch your attention while visiting the Trondenes Church. Equally intriguing is the Trondenes Fort which contains four land-based guns which are supposedly the largest in the world.
