About Floating Market, Hat Yai
Quite apt to its name the market actually floats atop small boats on water. The Floating Market is located in Khlong Hae a bit away from hat yai city. It’s a nice place to rub shoulders with the locals and test your bargaining skills. A place where you get all sorts of fruits vegetables, flowers and even some of the weirdest non vegetarian foods like earthworms. You can try them if you have the stomach for it. Instead of plastic bags and cups the vendors use organic products like bamboo boxes and clay pots which adds a nice flavour to the place.

Floating Market, Hat Yai Reviews
Well known touristic Exotic and bustling shopping and food centre that caters mainly to visiting chater vans and tourist buses. The locality is away from the city but once there you will be amazed at their parade of things to buy and taste. It is the predecessor to many New up and coming floating market in southern Thailand as their attraction is undiminished even after decades of offering the same concept of tourist product and handicrafts & wares . Conclusion: Still worth the trip.
Not too much of a big deal. Good for spending time. Typical local food and very touristy. Just a few floating shops, to be honest. Not sure if really worth the hype. Be careful with parking. If you park inside, they'll only allow your vehicle to move out after 7pm.
Variety of foods can be found here. And halal foods are easily availabe. All boat vendors selling halal food if i not mistaken. Good stop for souvenir shopping too. Easy to bargain with the locals
We went there on Friday night. Arrived at around 7pm. There is a night market there. You have to walk cross a bridge to the boats. The ambience is nice with local performers singing on the stage. Majority of the sellers there are Muslim, selling halal food. After buying the food you can eat at the provided tables, which are free seating. I think its difficult to get a place if you go there on public holiday. Try not to eat near the boat by the river is you dont like dogs lingering around. The tables are occasionally cleaned by the person in charge, but bringing your own wipes would be nice. The market closes at 9pm
Best place to spend 100 Thai baht on street food as you can easily taste 4/5 dishes. Try and arrive as the sun is setting for beautiful photos and ambiance.
