Have you ever wondered how a flowering mountain valley would look while the fumes emanate from the spoil creating a misty atmosphere? The home of the geysers, Haukadalur valley on the northern bank of the Laugarvatn Lake will offer you such a unique natural phenomenon. Developing on the Rhyolitic dome of Laugarfjall, the geothermal geysers are named as Geysir and Strokkur. The Geysir is the unpredictable one erupting rarely while the Strokkur is quite regular and shows in every 5-10 minutes of interval. Haukadalur also treats its visitors with lots of fumaroles, mud pots and hot springs scattered here and there.
