Melia Cohiba, Havana Reviews
Great location and modern styling gives the hotel an advantage over other options in Havana, however the staff seemed very cold and rigid. There were tiny rules for every little thing - we couldn't take a towel away from the towel area, my bf forget his sandals and was walking barefoot to the pool and they tried to deny us, but the elevator directly to the pool was broken soul we had no choice. Overall, amenities were great but the staff could use more training in hospitality and dealing with clients.
I have no bearing on the room or service quality, but the Cohiba's humidor was very accommodating and a great place to smoke a cigar
I was told this hotel was an original 3 stars in the US, but 5 star in Cuba. I looked through photos and the hotel looked ok compared to many others in the island. The place is full of roaches. German small little nasty critters. They were in the hallway rugs, the closet, bathroom, you name it they were there. After arriving late one night, i switched on the lights and the roaches were having a fiesta in our room. I called the lobby to complain and they sent a house keeper, with bug spray. As if that was really going to work. This continues through through my stay. I was never offered another room, nothing. Then after some rain, i arrived and found a gigantic puddle of water near the windows of the room. Huge leak! Scary! The cleaning personal and the 20th floor workers are extremely kind. The food up there is also exceptional, i have no complaints about the service up there. Some of the elevator securities are rude and don’t reply to your good mornings. The service for the pool restaurant is horrible! Staff never come back to attend you after you are served, unless you flash a little cash. Let’s just say i rather stay in my aunts house in Guanabacoa... then return to this disaster of a hotel. You must go to truely see for yourself. Your better off renting a house near the ocean.
Good place to stay. Some things are not maintained correctly. Good room service but old quills and pillows
Fantastic hotel.nice reception. Consierge Ariel was informative and exceptionally helpful.made my Cuba trip memorable
