About Plaza De La Catedral, Havana

The Plaza de la Catedral right outside Havana Catedral is a nice place to spend an afternoon or two in. even if you aren’t religious and don’t want to visit the church, do make it a point to see this lovely square.

If you think about it, other than the gorgeous baroque façade of the church there is nothing very special about the place as such. But visiting the plaza is more about the feel of it than the sightseeing. Even in the midst of the city it is a quiet place to relax.

So whether you take a walk around it, or have a drink at one of the various bars and cafes around, the delicious atmosphere of the place is worth taking in. It has an old worldly charm to it that makes it really memorable and remarkable.

Plaza De La Catedral, Havana Reviews

  • A beautiful walk around the Plaza de la Catedral. At times can be very busy but amazing you see locals going to and from work or school.

  • Beautiful plaza. The main cathedral is gorgeous as well although it's not open to tourists, at least not during my visit. A couple of museums nearby and restaurants as well. A bit pricey just to keep in mind since you'll be paying in CUC as a tourist.

  • Great historical place. Almost feels like frozen in time.

  • Beatiful square, beware of all the people trying to lure you into an expensive reastairant with doubtful quality, though.

  • Great views, smaller portions but was part of a tourist bus
