The Fort Hays is actually a military base which you can visit with your tour companions while touring in the location of Hays. The place is originally known as Fort Fletcher. From the year 1865 to 1889, this frontier got used actively. The frontier got closed during the period of late 19th century but it emerged as a park in the year 1929 again. In this historical site, you can see four original buildings, a guardhouse, a visitor centre, blockhouse and officers' quarters. The furnishing of the interiors carries the charm of the 19th century. The set of exhibits of the Fort Hays is also impressive and it includes many Indian artefacts and things that the civilians actually used while staying here.
