You know that you ought to camp when you are the stunningly picturesque alpine village of Georgia. There is no other way to have a rendezvous with nature than camping as you sleep under the starry nights. And since for that you need a good place, Unicoi State Park offers you an answer. One of the most beloved parks of Georgia, the Unicoi state park offers you with a huge area of 1,050-acre where you can carry out your adventurous activities in the lap of nature. Scenic mountain trails grace this park making it an ideal destination for hikers and people who love camping. Moreover, the park is not as quaint you would think it to be so. Activities, concerts, and craft festivals regularly act as interlude to the quietness that encompasses the park. For people who are staying here overnight, there are lodges, modern campground and cottages for glamping.

Unicoi State Park, Helen Reviews - Write a Review

  • Don't buy the firewood here, we couldn't get it to stay lit. The manager refunded my money without a problem. Nice sized walk up tent campsites, restrooms were clean but shower stall needlessly small. Nice trail around the lake. So convenient to Anna Ruby falls and Helen. Could do better with signage, but this is the case at most GA state parks.

  • Go early!!! We chose to go mid morning not knowing what the crowds would be trying to visit the Anna Ruby Falls. Wow I'm glad we chose to go early by the time we left the line to get in rapped around the road a good ways. The waterfall was beautiful and the paved path to get to it wasn't bad at all. It's pretty much all up hill, once you reach the falls there is a 5 mile trail of the left as your looking at the falls. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a moderate hike. The trail was well maintained but be aware you are in good ole mother nature. We came across a yellow jacket nest that had been disturbed by hikers coming from the other directions and well anyone from that moment on who came across that location was stung free of charge haha. All in all it was a fantastic hike and the falls were truly amazing.

  • Stayed at the Squirrels Nest (in a terrible storm) and still had a blast. Stayed dry too! Staff were welcoming and helpful. Lake Unicoi is gorgeous. Same for nearby Anna Ruby Falls.

  • My family and I had a wonderful week despite all the problems with our cottage and the unhelpful staff. The cottage: Mice. Ants. Floors not even swept, if we go by the dirty sock under the end table. Stairs had not been swept in who know how long. We were given 4 sets of towels for 7 people, and when we asked for more we were given a few more towels. Calling again did no good at all. Staff was not concerned and not helpful. Reservation staff: Rude and unhelpful. Restaurant: Poor, poor service. Again, staff rude and unhelpful.

  • The rooms are nice. The one in the second floor had attic like and and extra bed in the room. The food is very good. The hospitality is also very nice. And it's very good to hike around.
