Beware - This is a privately owned museum where visitor safety does not appear to have been considered. The paths around the site are surfaced with loose gravel and there is lots of barbed wire along the route. My wife injured herself during our visit walking round the museum. We reported the accident at the shop. A poorly stocked first aid kit was produced at our insistence but there was no assistance or concern for the injury suffered on the site.
The bunker is very impressive, even though I was expecting a big bunker. We had to take a trip with the guide (something we didn't want) who wasn't able to explain some things in English, let alone Dutch, too bad! We were lucky to see a change to sneak away from the group to take our own tour. We enjoyed our visit very much.
This monument is a must-visit for anyone who's interested in WW2 or in history in general. It's fenomenal to see the massive bunker appear out of nothing after the last turn in the road. It contains much information on its main function, launching V2 missiles. But there is also a reconstruction of a V1 launch site and the real-life replica of the Tallboy bomb that ended the base. Must-see!!
Spectacular bunker from world war 2. Explains all about the V2 that the Germans wanted to launch from there. Very interesting. It's cold in the bunker though, be prepared and wear a sweater
One of the weirdest places I’ve ever visited. The entrance looks deadly boring but don’t get fooled. After a 3 min walk throughout the wood you reach a huge open space and the blokhaus spectacle unfolds. A massive next level bunker with traces of intensive bombing. Itlooks impressive on pictures but the real thing is overwhelming. Unbelievable that you look at 80 years old structure. You can almost still feel the ground trembling. This is the place wherry V3 rockets would have been launched by a hair and could have been decisive in WWII. Indeed a extremely dark place with somekind of evil vibes. Food for thought.
