Kamppi Chapel Of Silence - Review

The Chapel of silence is a wonderful concept. Located in a very busy shopping area of Helsinki it is a place of great amity and tranquility. It was made precisely to create a contemplative place in an age of “life in the fast lane”. Easily accessible from many of the major streets in Helsinki, the church is a wonderful place for people to come together in quietness.

Moreover, the architecture of the church is also very interesting. The Rounded ship-like church is a surprising sight to see in the city center of Helsinki. The very odd structure cannot be missed if you are in the center of Kamppi.

The idea behind the church is to enable people to have silent moments of peace with each other in the middle of their busy lives. Tourists will certainly be able to appreciate the stillness of the church and take in the peaceful atmosphere. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Helsinki itinerary 2 days.

Kamppi Chapel Of Silence, Helsinki Reviews

  • Every time we took someone visiting Helsinki they enjoyed this chapel. One of the most unique chapels you'll ever visit. A place of quiet and solitude in one of the busiest parts of the city. Stop in and take a moment to meditate, reflect, and enjoy the quiet. The only thing you'll hear is the building "breathing."

  • Just a stone’s throw beside Kamppi Shopping Centre stands a huge chunk of a wooden circular block that might occur to tourists just as a street decoration. I was fooled by it. It was actually an extraordinary chapel which did not define the conventional ones. The interior was small and woody.

  • Impressive. A very quiet place in the middle of the city noise. You spend 5 to 10min here for meditation and you will regain more energy than before coming in...

  • Aa absolutely unique place of worship, Finnish design personified beautifully. Unlike Temppeliaukio, you'll find complete silence here, and through that serenity. You see wood everywhere, only the stone looking cushions on the right. While the church inside is evocative of Noah's arc, sitting on the pew and looking up makes one feel like they are inside an egg. Lots of complex feelings.

  • One of my favourite places in Helsinki: around is noisy and rich culture, but in the chapel you just forget it. With all its problems and challenges. And if you will have chance to speak with some workers of this chapel and learn the idea of this place, you will love it as I do. I wish everyone to come here!
