Kappeli - Review

If you want to munch on reindeer and then follow it with a great local blueberry pie, now's your chance. Can be a little pricey for what it is though.

Kappeli, Helsinki Reviews

  • Let me be clear, Kappeli is amazing place to visit. Their food is outstanding and highly recommended. Dishes are fine dining level and the portion size is good, you will not be hungry after a starter and a main. Their bread is exceptionally delicious. Menu is nice and simple, packed with traditional Finnish high quality dishes. You can also just come to the terrace and enjoy a glass of wine or beer in the relaxed atmosphere of Helsinki.

  • Dishes are pretty much on the safe side which can’t go wrong. But overall still considered of great quality and taste. Tried the steak and whitefish; they were both delicious and extremely tasty. Will recommend to others. Nice ambience to chill out as well. It gets 4 stars from me only because it is actually not that creative, though as mentioned still very well executed.

  • Just love it here.Beautiful surroundings, great ambience,so clean and great staff, really nice coffee and free refills.Great food a nd cakes and bar Situated on the Esplanade so easy walk from railway station and waterfront. Bit of a tourist trap but not inflated prices. Great sitting, inside and out.

  • Recommended on a sunny and warm spring/summer evening... Limited menu but all dishes are well prepared and nicely presented. Great location on a sunny evening. Friendly and good service. I decided to go for a local Gin-Tonic (Arctic Blue Gin) - picture below, artichoke soup (yummy) and the salmon (you should pick something more creative). Good dinner...

  • Nice old building, fits perfectly in the area, nice environment especially during summer, very nice to sit outside. You can have your lunch dinner, or your drink in a cozy place. Prices of course are too high like normally in North Europe. Even like that the place has a different atmosphere, for me it's a must to visit in Helsinki
