The Olympic Stadium in Helsinki is certainly an iconic structure. The oblong stadium is a wonderfully built games venue and perhaps one of the finest stadiums in the world. Opened in 1938, the stadium has a capacity of more than 40000 spectators.
If you take a look from the tower you will get a gorgeousBirdseye view of this stunning stadium as well as the whole of Helsinki. Interestingly the stadium has its own owl that has made the place its residence. If you are lucky you might spot it.
The best part about the place is that it is not just a stadium. Aside from the fact that the venue is occasionally used for concerts it has a lot more on offer. There is a charming restaurant in the tower overlooking it. It is also home to several winter activities ensuring the cold weather does not dampen your visit. Of the artists that have performed here Michaiel Jackson, Iron Maiden and Bruce Springsteen are the most noted.
- The ticket prices given are for visiting the tower from the inside.
- During winters the prices are reduced for a few week.
- On Saturdays and Sundays the stadium is only open till 6pm.

Gonna be great stadium when it's finished
Nice park, but reconstraction
We went here in the hope of both seeing the Olympic stadium and perhaps having a glimpse of the famous eagle owls that are on the area. Neither happened. The stadium was being renovated and you could not get too close to it. And the Finnish bird group are quite rude and never reply to any emails regarding getting help to see the birds. Very disappointed.
It was under construction and you really couldn't see anything other than 2 statues. Very disappointed
