Toolonlahti - Review
Tolonlahti in Helsinki is a sort of a reclaimed Bay area that is a lovely place to visit. Located in the very heart of Helsinki, the water body is an idyllic spot to explore. It is surprising to find such a serene and picturesque area in the middle of a busy city.
Birdwatchers will love this place. The gorgeous waters are home to a wide array of ducks, stilts and other endemic as well as migratory species. The verdant park that surrounds the lake is also full of these feathered friends of a forest persuasion. You might even get to see some swans here.
There is a trail around Töölönlahti which is a great place to take your morning or evening walks. It is also popular as a jogging route. Be sure to take a couple of hours to enjoy the scenery and take in the sights. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Helsinki itinerary 2 days.
- Ideally you are supposed to walk/ run around the bay anti-clockwise. It isn’t a rule but it is a convention.
