One of the best, undisturbed (not untouched) by man, national parks in India. Rugged beauty along with a serene unpolluted environment is a sort of heaven on earth. For the more adventurous, during winters, when it is snow covered, this is an ideal place to trek for Snow Leopard viewing (they appear very rarely if human presence is detected). This place is at a high altitude, so altitude sickness can happen. A must recommended visit
Peace... And happiness.. Whoever goes there will be one in love with the place. The beauty is extraordinary there.. Nature at its best..
Nature at its best. But its very frustrating to see the popular campsites looking like landfill sites. Trekking is a big business here and MITRA is making good money. How come they are burning waste (glass and tin doesn't burn guys!) and doing washing in the rivers. Hopefully the camping culture here can adapt a more environmentally conscious attitude and very soon, otherwise this place will be ruined forever.
Good place to capture the milky way as there is no light pollution and a wonderful retreat from the chaos of modern day life.
