A visit to the Spanish capital will take us to the Iglesia de San Andres. A Catholic Church which seems more imposing than beautiful is due to the restoration work which became necessary after the civil war. Austere, black towers against the back side lead our sight up into the dome-shaped ceiling sculpted with all kinds of floral fantasies and cherubs. This site was previously occupied by the Christian church of the Islamic Madrid, since the jurisdiction of San Andres. This Church was frequented by Saint Isidro Labrador and Saint Mary of the Head, parishioners of the parish in which the saint was buried. An authentic Century XII architecture, though restored, much is still there to witness the history in modern times.
