Hervey Bay Botanical Gardens, Hervey Bay Reviews - Write a Review
So nice! Exelent cheap day out! Sun, birds, lots of different vegetation and a orchid house! $2.50 entry to see orchids. A little cafe overlooking a nice pond of turtles and water foul. Huge shaded grassy areas for whatever, not golf but, lol.
This review is about the Orchid House. I spent a long weekend in Hervey Bay and were unable to visit the Orchid House because it was closed all three days. I can't understand why the place opens Monday to Thursday only, being in a coastal town that lives on tourism. No chance to visit it for weekenders and occasional tourists. Opening Monday to Thursday makes the place accessible to locals only. How silly is that? Furthermore, we found it closed on Queen's Birthday, which also would a big chance of attracing more tourists. We were not the only tourists that wanted to visit the place but found it was closed. We met many more people outside of the House, all disappointed. Furthermore, there was a big sign on the door, listing all the events of the forthocoming days, but no mention that it would have remained closed on Queen's Birthday monday. Totally disappointed.
A wide variety of plants and birds. A lot of people too.
Many gardens to wander through, birds galore and many other native animals.
Different parts interesting ,woodland, lakes, open grassland ,Japanese gardens. Fernhouse.
