Hervey Bay Botanical Gardens - Review

The Hervey Bay Botanical Gardens are great place to relax in the tropical atmosphere amongst local flora. The main highlight is the Orchid House, which is home to a collection of 20,000 orchids. Other areas worth seeing are the Japanese Bridge, Bush Tucker Garden, Aboriginal Bush Tucker Garden and the Woodland/Wetlands area. There is an open-air chapel called the Bush Chapel lined with tall tropical trees where many weddings take place. Visit here for a leisurely morning stroll or a pleasant picnic lunch!

Hervey Bay Botanical Gardens, Hervey Bay Reviews

  • Absolutely beautiful, loved it has well kept gardens, with clean BBQ areas! favorite part was feeding the turtles. Lots of fun activities enjoyed it very much, can't wait to go back again

  • Unfortunately it began to rain shortly after I arrived, so it was a quick trip around the gardens. What I saw was lovely and lush. A great place to meander and view.

  • Do you likè orchids? A must see! Most are in flower and you can buy selected ones very reasonably. The gardens are well maintained with some lovely walks. Great place for a family picnic. At times a good idea to take mosie repellent.

  • A quiet, relaxing spot with lovely trees and a small lake. The lake has dozens of tortoises which race to try to catch the bread thrown by visitors. A great place to relax and unwind and the Orchid House is well worth a visit for the flower lovers.

  • Beautiful spot for a picnic or just to walk about and enjoy the gardens. A lot of effort has gone in to labelling the different plants.
