Sorrento Quay Hillarys Boat Harbour, Hillarys Reviews
Great chill out place with many options to have meals or drinks, or simply enjoy the sunset evening. Families with young kids can enjoy themselves at the small beach with a playground. Ample parking space.
Excellent family friendly spot. Lots of parking available, tip is to arrive early. It will be difficult to spot a park closer to the lunch time crunch. The harbour inlet is perfect for families to swim with shallow areas for the little ones and a short wade to the lagoon pontoon and slide for the older kids (only wish there was a adult sized one!). There's some shady areas under the trees and shade sails both on the beach sand area and grassy lawns. There's also handy beach showers to wash off the salt water. Perfect for a day out to browse the market stalls, grab a gelato and sit by the water.
The beach inside the quay us really good for young kids as it's shallow, has no waves, is well kept sand, had life guards, shared shade sails, water slides that my 5 & 6 year olds were able to paddle out to (using noodles). The water is crystal clear and the shoals of small fish were fun for the kids to chase. As for the rest of the Quayside, it really does have a lot to offer to eat and drink, with a multitude of eateries as well as small independent shops. If you find the parking to busy on the Sorrento side, then a good tip is to park the Hillarys side next to the boat launches. It's a quick and easy walk over the bridge or around the beach to get to the other side and you will find it far less stressful to park.
This is a good place to have a day out with kids and family. For kids you have a Fish Acquarrium where kids are face to face with various types . After taking kids visiting Fish Acquarrium you can take them to a small area where kids can enjoy playing in sand and water. They have option of enjoying rides and slides. After undertaking all these activities kids and adults will like to have something to bite also. For this there are a number of outlets where you can have items of your choice . Then there are number of shops selling casual wear for all ages. Those interested in Fishing can also bring their fishing rod and have a good time while waiting for fish to bite the bait.
It's got it all- nearly. Ample parking. Accommodation. Take away food with grassed areas to picnic on, overlooking a shaded beach and gentle swim area. Fine dining and upmarket pub overlooking that area or the marina. Plenty of mid range restaurants, and then a few interesting clothes shops as well.
