The Pearl S. Buck Birthplace is like a living museum that depicts the life and career of the Pulitzer Prize winner Pearl S. Buck as well as his family life in this area. This site is equipped with the log house of his father’s family, scenic farmland, and woodworking tools. The Manuscripts of Buck are restored in the museum which can be rented by researchers by prior reservation from the Birthplace Foundation. The Stulting House overlooking the mountainous countryside, the restored Stulting Barn with its storage area, hayloft and farm equipment, the Sydenstricker House, and the Pearl S. Buck Memorial Garden are the points of interest at the Pearl S. Buck Birthplace.

  • We had the most amazing tour around Pearl S. Buck's birthplace.i highly recommend a visit.

  • The Pearl S. Buck birthplace is well worth multiple visits. Phyllis A. Lubin-Tyler gave a terrific tour. She has read most, if not all, of Buck's many works. She has visited and absorbed the information from the other Buck homeplaces, including those in China. Don't miss this!
