  • We drove by on the way back from Manchester a couple of weeks ago and decided to go back and check out Speedwell Cavern.. Great call, our children {6 and 9} were a little unsure at first but we're soon put at ease by the great guides.. The journey underground was exciting, interesting and full of little historical anecdotes.. We loved it..!

  • Very interesting and our tour guide was excellent with many stories to tell. Most of the tour is traveling through a tunnel on a boat then at the end you get out and spend 5 to 10 minutes in a cavern which is reasonably large and lots to look at. You just need to be stable on your feet to do this one as there are a hundred odd steps at the start but compared to the blue John cavern this is by far a lot easier to do. The price I thought was a little steep for the 40 minute trip and that’s why I docked it 1 star.

  • Not very easy to take pictures in a cavern. Had to hold the camera still for 15 seconds to gather enough light. You couldn't see the blue colour with your own eyes. Our tour guide Robert was very entertaining and funny, but also imparted lots of knowledge and stories and made the visit very memorable. The boat ride through the cavern was enhanced by it rocking just enough to make everyone slightly nervous and sit still.

  • We arrived here nice and early. Trips set off every 15-20minutes. The price is a bit steep in my opinion but when are you going to have caverns on your doorstep (unless you live around them) £34.50 for me and my 8yr old - The was the joint ticket so we intend to go see the Peak Cavern soon. Once you descend down the 106 steps you get into a boat... you start to make your way down the ‘Adit’ and get to hear all the facts and stories from your Guide - ours was Felix and he was great. You get to the end and get to spend some time inside the Cavern whilst you wait for boat to return to take you back. The whole time is about 45-55 minutes long. I didn’t go into too much detail about the journey down there so you can go yourself 😜 It’s not 5* due to the cost

  • Fantastic attraction. Make sure you wear sensible shoes because there's a lot of steps involved. The boat trip was amazing. The guide was great really made the visit worth while
